About East Side Bar & Grill

East Side Bar & Grill is the third restaurant opened by Chef Johnny. In 2019, he opened Oahu Grill, a restaurant in Kaimuki which specializes in authentic Hawaiian food. In 2020, he opened West Side Bar & Grill, a restaurant in Kapolei which specializes in plantation-style food.

Chef Johnny was born and raised in Kaneohe and spent most of his childhood in Waikane. Later he moved to Molokai where he learned to prepare authentic Hawaiian food and other local dishes with family recipes that were handed down from generation to generation. Chef Johnny worked at several Hawaii bars and restaurants, starting out at the well-known Pau Hana Inn on Molokai.
